Description
Musine (Croton megalocarpus) is a widely planted indigenous East African tree known for its versatility. It improves soil fertility through leaf litter, provides good shade and windbreak cover, and its seeds are pressed for croton oil, used as a biofuel and in soap-making. Livestock browse the leaves, and the tree coppices well after cutting, making it popular in agroforestry systems.
