Description
Mukenea (Zanthoxylum gilletii) is an indigenous highland forest species found across East Africa. It is grown for its light, workable timber (used in furniture and general carpentry) and its bark and leaves have a history of use in traditional medicine. It grows well as a shade or specimen tree and contributes to reforestation of native forest.
